My journey in the water industry began in 1988 when I attended the Chippewa Valley Technical College and received my State of Wisconsin certification for Groundwater, Distribution & Iron Filtration (license #22294). I began working for the City of Sparta Water Utility as a certified operator, where I gained experience working in the field dealing with all aspects of a water system. In 2011 I was promoted to Superintendent of the Sparta Water Utility. I held that position until I retired from the City in January of 2026.

In 2005, in addition to my position with the City of Sparta Water Utility, I founded H2O Compliance Services LLC. The main focus was to become a contract operator for smaller public water systems. This involves being the “operator in charge” to oversee all aspects of their drinking water systems and to maintain compliance with the Department of Natural Resources. I currently have many clients in Monroe, Vernon, La Crosse, Juneau, Jackson , Trempealeau, Marquette, Portage & Wood counties. In 2015 I obtained my State of Wisconsin Pump Installers license (license #8367), and expanded the H2O business to include well inspections for real estate transfers and also private well water testing, in the entire Western Wisconsin Area.
